Monnalisa is among the first companies in the childrenswear sector to adopt Blockchain technology through a pilot project in its Couture line. This makes use of the “Progetto Track IT Blockchain” set up by ICE - the Italian government agency dedicated to promoting Italian companies and helping them expand internationally. The project is in line with Monnalisa’s corporate culture, which brings together innovation, research and creativity to ensure the quality, sustainability and safety of every item of clothing the company produces.
Using the blockchain brings all of the supply chain information together in a single digital register that is decentralised, transparent, secure and unchangeable. By doing so, it protects the Group’s high-end range - and the brand itself - from counterfeit and “Italian-sounding” products.
Monnalisa Couture garments will feature a special label with a “smart-tag”, allowing consumers to visit a dedicated web page from their smartphones where they can consult all the registered product information available. This includes brand storytelling, the model name and identification code, a 360-degree interactive product experience, the creative idea behind the model, traceability in the production chain, and the attestations and certifications of the fabric and accessories used.
